It is a Roguelike RPG, with visual novel elements. SHAFT and Gekidan Inu Curry provided the illustrations. Yusuke Tomizawa (God Eater) and Yoshinao Doi (Steins Gate, Madoka Magica) produced the game, while Gen Urobuchi collaborated on the project's planning and supervised the scenario. Puella Magi Madoka Magica Portable is a PSP game developed by Namco Bandai.
